BonJolie's Six Degrees of Everything

monkeysvsrobots.com - popculture for the people - forums: Features: BonJolie's Six Degrees of Everything
BonJolie was born with a gift. Not the gift of laser eyes, flight, teleportation, super-strength, invisibility or the ability to leap tall buildings with a single bound. No, she was born with the unique ability to connect almost any person to anyone else through movies. She is the living equivalent of the IMDb. A superpower worthy of the Doom Patrol for sure. She can do this usually within six steps (ala six degrees of Kevin Bacon if you haven't left your house in the last 20 years). Nobody within our social circle has been able to stump her. Now dear friends, it is your turn!

Can you stump BonJolie? Can you think of two people in the movies that you couldn't imagine being able to be connected within six steps? Post your challenge in the message board below and see if she can do it! (They must be possible to solve though please...)

Note: All messages will be posted in reverse order now, so the newest message will appear on the top. Old messages have been archived. Hopefully this will avoid confusion... Questions relating to porn stars, or silent movies will be not answered (as most silent film actors didn't move into the world of talkies successfully and therefore can not be connected to many people). You may search the message board as well. -hd

The Splendiferous BonJolie (Bonjolie) (12.24.111.6)

Monday, August 04, 2003 - 11:40 am
Ok Future...this one made me work!!!! It wasn't that I couldn't find a connection...it was just finding the route that involved the fewest steps. I was happy at 4, thrilled at 3, and ecstatic with 2...so here goes.....

Janeane Garofalo was in
DOGMA with
Matt Damon who was in
THE BOURNE IDENTITY with
Franka Potente

I am still debating about the silent film challenge. It is not my normal practice to use actors from this era...but I like the subjects chosen (for obvious reasons) so I am contemplating.

Future (172.158.42.38)

Thursday, July 17, 2003 - 09:56 pm
Janine Garafolo to Franka Potente.
and if you're ok with accepting silent movie stars.....Max Schreck to Willem Dafoe
go got em champ.

Good Challenges Hollywood....although the Keira Knightley one was a bit too easy...so here they are:

Bela Lugosi was in
PLAN 9 FROM OUT SPACE and GLEN or GLENDA with
Conrad Brooks who was in
THE VAMPIRE HUNTERS CLUB with
Daniel Roebuck (he was great in River's Edge)who was in
US MARSHALLS with
Joe Pantoliano (they need to have a 6 Degrees game on this guy) who was in
THE ADVENTURES OF PLUTO NASH with
Eddie Murphy who was in
I SPY with
Owen Wilson

Stay tuned for the rest

Good work. How about... Hmm... Owen Wilson to Bela Lugosi. And if that is too easy, try Kiera Knightly to Cary Elwes.

In my effort to catch up, here is one from September of Last year (Hang tight Erin I'm getting to yours). While this one violates our rule of using Silent Film actors, I decided to do it anyway.....since I have been extremely lax in my postings. So without further delay:

Frank Hanaway was in
THE GREAT TRAIN ROBBERY (from 1903)with
Gilbert m. "Broncho Billy" Anderson who was in
THE BOUNTY KILLER with
Buster Crabbe (I used to love watching him when I was little) who was in
SWIMTEAM with
Stephen Furst who was in
ANIMAL HOUSE with (none other than)
Kevin Bacon who was in
MY DOG SKIP with
Luke Wilson who co-starred in
OLD SCHOOL with
Will Ferrell

Listen....oh demanding one...
I did it in a way I felt involved the least amount of steps....here is another way....
Hunter S. Thompson was in
FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS with
Christina Ricci who was in
THEN AND NOW with
Thora Birch who was in
ALASKA with
Dirk Benedict who was in
BODY SLAM with
Jim Neidhart

Hunter S. Thompson was in

Christina Ricci who was in
THE HARD WAY with
Michael J Fox who was in
LIFE WITH MIKEY with
Jerry Lawler who appeared in
KING OF THE RING with
Jim Neidhart

AHA! Glad to see you back Jolie, but I guess I need to remind you that Jim Neidhart made a cameo in the wonderful Rowdy Roddy Piper movie "Body Slam". It was a 1980s blockbuster film that marked the acting debut of the "Tonga Kid." So I demand a more satisfactory answer! The ball's in your court now.

This is in response to El Futuro's request for me to link Hunter S.Thompson and Jim Neidhart. As far as I know, none of Mr. Neidhart's matches were ever in theatrical release, plus I'm not sure what our boundaries are on sporting events. The Rock, Hulk Hogan, and Andre the Giant have all been featured in films in one way or another; Mr. Neidhart has not.

Wow, I have not checked in a while, and will be getting on these post haste. It seems that Monsieur Hazzard has been on a bit of a bender. I don't know what the %&*$ he's talking about a potty mouth, he's so full of @#$!. Anyway, be patient, and I will work dilligently.

If you've ever gone to Denny's with BonJolie then you know she ACTUALLY has this super-ability... no lie. And you can trust me, because frankly, I'm not fond of her and if I saw any opportunity for criticism, I'd take it as my chance to degrade her... nah, just kidding...

but seriously, The Future, Hollywood, and I have all seen her live in action. The trouble with live action is BonJolie's horrible potty mouth. We actually spend a total of 18 daylight hours a day taking the F-words and various references to male and female body genitalia out her text.

It's for this reason, and because we don't have the technology or extra time on our hands, that we can almost certainly decline your request for a webcast... however, if you would like to meet here in the forum on a set day or time, you can probably set up a showdown with BonJolie who'd be more than happy to crush your hopes and aspirations as she has done for many others in the past who sought to oppose her movie powers.

I need a drink.

Don't be sad! I'm a drooling empath posing as a heartless cynic. You may indeed have the gift but practicing it on the net is like sim-actors doing live theater. We need the adrenaline of live-action, unscripted magic, baby! I'm saying Webcast Webcast Webcast.
But to cheer you up I'll throw you a bone:
Sly Stallone to Ronald Reagan.

I dunno - can you swear you are not using the offical Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon search engine to answer these?
See, I have The Gift, too, Sister, but we can cheat online. What we need is a Live Webcast Six Degrees Challenge.
Or you could just "say cross my heart, hopt to die, stick a needle in my eye" and I'd buy it.
