Crap, It’s The News!  1/23/05

Finally got my iPod the other day after waiting the entire day for the UPS guy to get here.  I was hoping for it to come on the morning delivery, but instead he dropped it off about about 6.45p.  I was about to burst into hysterics to get my new toy.  Well, now that I have it I’m very happy with it.  Now I’m sitting around ripping all my CD’s, which considering my collection will take a while.  Heheh, Hathyr is looking at ordering her own iPod sometime this week!

On the flipside of that bit of technolust, here’s some news of some other kind of technolust you might find amusing: Jenna’s on the phone and she says she’s coming for you...

Lastly, I am *really really really* saddened by the death of Johnny Carson.  He was my favorite late night host.  What’s more, he was not just a host but the star of the show.  Sure he had many amazing people on over the years, but in my eyes it was his brilliance that made his show stand out.  I owe much of my twisted sense of humor to that man.  I was corrupted sneaking out of my bedroom and watching his show as a little kid.  I didn’t get many of the jokes as a kid, but as I got older I understood more of the humor, to the point that my mom wasn’t all that happy that her 10 year old was watching it, heh.

Well Johnny, I hope there’s a golf course in heaven waiting for you.  I’m sure some of those old dead guys up there could use a laugh.  Good night.

Scientology Stars Sign Away Their Rights?
Research into the Church Of Scientology has revealed some of Hollywood’s most powerful stars may have signed documents giving up their right to psychiatric care and to see relatives. Celebrities including Tom Cruise, John Travolta, Kirstie Alley, Juliette Lewis and Lisa Marie Presley could sign contracts banning the privileges as they move up the church’s hierarchy, according to website Page Six. Documents relating to the bans have been uncovered by David Touretzky, a research professor at Carnegie Mellon University, Pennsylvania, America, who has been studying the religion for six years. One such document specifies advanced training can only happen after members “forever (give) up (the) right to sue the church and its staff for any injury or damage suffered in any way connected with Scientology”. Religious cult expert Rick Ross writes on his website, “It seems that Scientologist superstars like Tom Cruise, John Travolta and wealthy patrons such as Lisa Marie Presley may be signing away rights most citizens within free countries take for granted.”

Until next time…  Kablamoo!  (go there and watch everything they have.  you’ll laugh.)
