About MvsR & monkeysvsrobots.com
ABOUT MONKEYSVSROBOTS.COM
Monkeys vs. Robots is a web-project that started in early 1996. It was a simple site (located on an ISP in upstate New York that long since went out of business) that mostly detailed Hollywood Denney’s independent filmmaking pursuits. The site slowly grew from there and became a full featured pop-culture site, with several regular writers. After getting the domain name we moved the site here.
About the name... The name is actually an inside joke. Really, two jokes that were been combined. I’m not going to tell you any more than that though, because… It’s a long story and I don’t feel like typing it. You had to be there...

ADVERTISE WITH MONKEYSVSROBOTS
You probably already know, I’m all about the money, however I can’t support MvsR alone. My wealth consists of a few old computers, some bad sci-fi movies, a few ancient videogame systems, my car, a pile of CD’s and a collection of remote control robots. These things have gotten me far in life, however they don’t go very far in supporting MvsR. Most of the staff have day jobs too and just don’t have the cash to support the site themselves. This is why we use banner ads.
Monkeysvsrobots.com readers are some of the smartest, comicbook-readin’est, LARPing bunch on the Internet. Our readers are a good split of male and female in their late teens to early graying period. They are interested in things relating to toys, art, literature, comic books, movies, robots, pez, and all sorts of pop-culture. Most are surprisingly well educated and attractive and have well paying jobs.
So whether it’s the latest D&D game, or some new fusion powered yo-yo you want to sell or get rid of, let us know. Questions and comments concerning advertising rates, our target audience etc. please let us know. We can probably both make a couple of bucks together.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, in cases where surveys allow users to submit written comments, and where MvsR advises users of the possibility of such disclosure at the time they take the survey, MvsR reserves the right to disclose text information provided by any user through such a survey, provided that no personal information identifying that user is disclosed.

COMMENT POSTING GUIDELINES
Comment Posting Policy 1.01
You can't please everyone all the time, but you can please a few every now and then. In a sentence, that is the basis for this policy. Not everyone will be happy with it, but those are the breaks. If you don't like it, you can post elsewhere. I'm sure there is another website out there that can use the hits. Comments are wholly owned by the poster (the person who posts the comment) and do not necessarily reflect the interests or beliefs of Hollywood Denney or MvsR.
What you are NOT ALLOWED to do:- No hateful speech. This includes personal attacks and racial slurs.
- No web spamming. This includes posting your website, product, or cross-posting comments on forums or comment pages.
- No email spamming. This includes harvesting email addresses and sending unwanted messages to users of the site.
- Please refrain from posting offtopic. If you post a comment in an article comment page that is offtopic, it will likely it be removed.
- Lastly, if you have nothing nice to say, do like your mother would tell you and keep it to yourself. Nobody wants to hear it.
- You are encouraged to post comments that pertain to the article at hand. This includes political debates in the forums and comment pages.
- You are encouraged to post constructive criticism. 'You suck' is not constructive.
- You are encouraged to back your arguments with facts, figures and/or statistics from a verifiable source and give the source used.
- You are encouraged to post real contact information (name, email address, location, website) if you are making strong comments or arguments. If you have the guts...
Note: We reserve the right to modify or delete ANY comments for ANY reason. We reserve the right to ban you. We reserve the right to contact your host or ISP if you continually abuse the site. Remember, this isn't a democracy and you don't have the freedom of speech on this site. When you run your own website, you can have your own rules. Until then, you will have to live with ours. Tough.
UPDATES TO THE PRIVACY AND USAGE POLICY
To update the Privacy and Usage Policy, we will post the changed version and its effective date at www.monkeysvsrobots.com concurrently with any change to the core Privacy and Usage Policy (or such shorter or longer time as mandated by law or any judicial or government body). Any changes made to the Privacy and Usage Policy will be prospective, not retroactive.
