Today, I bring no anger, no sarcasm, no angst.  No today, I bring only love.  Love for Grant Morrison’s Doom Patrol!  If there’s only one thing that’ll develop a cult following in time, it’s this comic.  Bigger than Clockwork Orange, bigger than Rocky Horror even.  You liked Mystery Men, well you ain’t seen nuthin’ yet sunshine. Be the first to jump on the bandwagon and rediscover this new classic!  See the difference, appreciate the genius, become one with the goodness.  What more is there to say?  Enjoy or DIE!!!

The Doom Patrol was dubbed “The World’s Strangest Heroes”, a group of super freaks that made their debut in the spiffy ‘60s comic My Greatest Adventure. They might seem like an X-Men rip off, however DP came out first (by a whole month!). The Doom Patrol comic series have been around for a while and the roster has changed a good deal since the olden days; many writers and artists have come and gone. Grant Morrison took over the book, and his run is the focus of this extravaganza. Morrison said the super-hero genre was under appreciated and unexplored, so he made the Doom Patrol truly “The World’s Strangest Heroes” as it was intended. The Doom Patrol is a group of losers, has-beens and never-weres with unusual super-powers that often make them wish they were just normal like me. I identify with these junkyard dogs of the super-hero world, and maybe you will too. You’ll never find adventures this bizarre outside of Tool videos or Hollywood’s junk collection. Were you gonna say… ESOTERIC? You bet!! This comic is more high brow than one might expect, so if you don’t know who Rudyard Kipling, Nietzsche or the Dadaists were… then I guess you better go back to books you can handle, like Curious George and Marmaduke.
